As a part of Fox’s recent Fall TV Preview series, the network debuted a brand-new clip of the upcoming fifth season of “Fringe” — and based on what we have seen so far, there is plenty to be excited about, even if the end is very much near.
First and foremost, it should be noted that some of this footage included her has been used in some other teasers — but at least Fox does bring some new footage to the table here, including an incredible scene here where the Observers are shown off in their best form of “incredibly creepy.” Trying to find out plot details about this season is about as hard as trying to understand the ending to “Lost” — it’s just not going to happen. Instead, let’s just ogle the pretty visuals for a while!
As you probably already know, we are going to be jumping forward in time to the future established in “Letters of Transit,” and the hope here is that we will see much of the same sort of story — except with more Olivia, and hopefully a return from Henry Ian Cusick (who was in the episode, but whose return has not yet been confirmed).
This season of “Fringe” launches on Friday, September 28 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and obviously the intention here is for Fox to ensure that fans of the show get the ending that they in many ways deserve after tuning in live week after week — even after the network moved it to this atrocious timeslot. Even if it’s a make-good for “Firefly” (which can never really be made good on), we will gladly take it. Expect the series finale to likely air in early 2013, since we can’t see the network burning through new episodes during the holidays.
