The launch of “The Walking Dead” October 14 is already being met with all sorts of excitement, and one of the primary reasons why is the opportunity that is being given to check out two of the most-popular characters from the comic book series — Michonne and the Governor. We know that each are going to make their presence felt in a big way throughout season 3, but the actors behind the parts in Danai Gurira and David Morrissey have largely opted to keep themselves quiet … until now.
Speaking as a part of a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Morrissey explained that the Governor would be a similar character on the small screen to what he is in the book — however, we may also see him at a little bit of a different stage in his life:
“We probably meet the Governor earlier in his journey. I think he has more complexity than in the comic book … The things that make him the way he is happen to him on screen. We see them happening.”
Although this may all be the case, that does not mean that this character is going to be any less feared. He is arguably one of the biggest villains out of the entire Robert Kirkman series, and we expect him to give Rick, Lori, and the rest of the survivors we are already familiar with some major trouble for quite a while.
Out of all the characters that are coming up during 3, is Morrissey the new face that you are the most excited to see? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! If you want to check out some more news on a new character known as Milton, be sure and read the story over at this link.
