On Monday night’s new episode of “Bachelor Pad,” the producers tried a brand-new strategy to ridicule and humiliate some of the contestants — have them take part in a humiliating spelling bee!
The teams are now in pairs, and this challenge started off simple enough with the teams spelling out such words as “love” and “heart.” Then, they had to sell “soiree.” Despite seemingly like a pretty smart guy, we were surprised to see Kalon McMahon struggle along with Lindzi Cox. Meanwhile, Chris Bukowski and Sarah Newlon managed to win, and with this they escape the ire of the house for at least a little while. In addition, we had to watch them take off on a rather intimate / uncomfortable date as Chris admitted to still having some feelings for Emily Maynard.
While runner-ups Jaclyn Swartz and Ed Swiderski got a date of their own, we’re really not that concerned about these “romances” mostly because we are not sure they are going to last. The one romance that has lasted so far in the real world is Kalon and Lindzi — and ironically, they were the ones sent home this week over them being such a strong couple. The only other pair that was really in danger this week was Nick Petersen and Rachel Truehart, but the only real debate here was whether or not Rachel was going to handle being there without her beloved Michael Stagliano. While she is still thinking about him all the time, she realizes that this is a game, and she is going to have to fight hard in order to win the grand prize.
At the end of the day, we are going to miss Kalon surprisingly — he was starting to show a different side on this show — and while what he said to Emily was inexcusable, he has at least learned from some of his past mistakes. We really do like him and Lindzi together, and hope they last for a while.
