Good news if you are a major fan of Santana on “Glee” — it is looking more and more like Ryan Murphy and company have some big plans for the character despite her graduation last year.
Speaking in a new interview with Zap2It, Gloria Estefan — who is currently a part of the singing show “The Next” alongside Joe Jonas over on The CW — claims that she is at least in talks about reprising the role at some point during season 4. If you remember Estefan had a crazy road when it came to getting on the show to begin with — originally, she was set to appear in the same episode as Ricky Martin, but some creatives changes and the Whitney Houston tribute episode (which was originally not planned until her death) ended up changing things in a pretty big way.
Estefan claims that if she does end up returning to the show, she wants to have it out with Santana’s grandmother, who famously told her to never speak with her again after coming out to her in a conversation last year:
“It was not a nice thing. It was a very real thing; it’s stuff that happens in life. I just would never allow my mother to leave it like that with my daughter in any way, shape or form. I need to have it out with [the grandmother], and have some kind of reunion happen with them, because that’s just not acceptable in my book.”
As to where the show would fit it in, that is a very good question when you remember that the first four episodes of the show are really going to be focused mostly on life at McKinley along with Kurt and Rachel’s adventures in New York. (The graduating seniors will have a limited role throughout the season, but rumor has it that Santana could take off to the Big Apple at some point.)
