The masterminds behind “The Office” recently announced that season 9 will be the last one for the hit NBC show and while there are people that feel the show should’ve ended after Steve Carell’s character of Michael Scott left, there are others that are sad to see the series coming to an end.
Luckily for the latter, there is an “Office” spinoff called “The Farm” that will be following one of the more popular characters from the series in Rainn Wilson’s ‘Dwight Schrute’, as he runs his beet farm/bed and breakfast with his crazy family.
It was also recently announced that “The Farm” has just recruited Matt Jones from AMC’s “Breaking Bad”. You might remember Jones as one of Jessie Pinkman’s strung out cronies named Badger, but on Dwight’s beet farm the actor will be taking on a very different type of role as his cousin Zeke.
“Breaking Bad” is currently in its last season (broken up into two 8 episode sections, with one currently airing now and the second section airing next year), so Jones has made a pretty smart move at just the right time. Also joining the cast of “The Farm” is Thomas Middleditch who will be playing Dwight’s brother and Majandra Delfino who will be appearing as Dwight’s younger sister.
