Only a matter of 24 hours after the story first came out that Jef Holm’s own brother Mike claimed that the “Bachelorette” star had in fact taken off from a family vacation over some supposed text messages that were on her phone to another man, Emily’s new fiance is speaking out and basically saying that Mike is not exactly telling the truth.
As a part of a lengthy statement to People Magazine, Jef strongly suggested that Mike may have been motivated by such things as money or attention to make claims that were not entirely true:
“My family all says they are shocked, and obviously I’m shocked … But if everybody knew the history he had with our family, no one would be surprised … I like to give Mike the benefit of the doubt and think he’s changed, but obviously he hasn’t. He has a history of doing hurtful things to the family. He’s been cut off from a lot of family things because he’s so dishonest.”
At the time in which Emily had finished her season, it looked as though she and Jef were primed to have a long relationship together and possibly get married — they claim that they are each still together and deeply in love, but these rumors are almost making this relationship now as troublesome as when Emily was with Brad Womack after his season of “The Bachelor.” We hope that all of these rumors blow over and they are able to move on with their lives, but we have a feeling that this scandal will haunt them for a while.
