For those of you who were wondering whether or not Zayn Malik of One Direction was going to return to Twitter after temporarily leaving the site earlier this week, we have some good news for you — he’s back on!
In a new post on Twitter, here is what the former “X Factor” contestant (who auditioned as a solo artist before being put into a group) had to say about why he left temporarily in the first place:
“Sorry, I was getting some abuse on twitter but I dont want to let my fans down. So I am back!! :) … Thanks for all your messages of support. I really do love all you guys, your support never ceases 2 amaze me.”
While these boys are international superstars and have millions of fans the world over, what is easy to forget is that they are still just young guys who are trying to find their place in the world — therefore, they will be prone to insecurities and other problems more so than celebrities twice their age. Luckily, Zayn managed to work out what was ailing him mentally just in time for a huge announcement from the band — the new single “Live While We’re Young” is going to be made available on September 30. This is not to be confused with “Live Like We’re Dying” by “American Idol” winner Kris Allen, or “Live Like You Were Dying” by country superstar Tim McGraw.
Over the past year, One Direction has exploded around the world following their success on “The X Factor” two years ago, and they have performed everywhere from “Saturday Night Live” to the closing ceremonies of the Olympics in London. Next up, they will be a part of the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday, September 6.
