When we heard that Jessica Sanchez was going to be on “Access Hollywood” Wednesday, we knew that it was more or less inevitable that the reigning runner-up on the show would be hounded with some questions pertaining to her relationship with Deandre Brackensick. Thankfully, she really seemed to handle the pressure of dealing with these topics rather well … and this is the lead topic of our “American Idol” notes.
One of the more surprising comments came when Jessica, unlike many other young men and women out there, did not hold back when it came to admitted to her fellow former contestant that she had feelings for him:
“I just wanted to be completely straight up with him and I wanted to tell him that I’ve had a crush on him … He actually had a girlfriend during the show, so I didn’t think he would actually want a relationship.”
We’ are happy that these two are together — though we do really wish that there was some sort of discussion that happened about the sort of music that she is working on for her upcoming debut album.
Phillip Philips talks hope for more feedback – Now, we have yet another reason to love Phillip Phillips — he knows when he rocked it out on the show earlier this year, and he knows when the judges were blowing spoke up his you-know-what.
In a new interview with MTV News, Phillip was talking about the new judges on the show when he said that he was hoping for more criticism — and he even cited an example from his season when the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler got it wrong:
“I would say I hope they’re a little more critical,” he said. “Because there were some times when I performed, especially on ‘Time of the Season,’ man, my ears went out, but that’s live television, I can’t just stop the song, so I just pushed through it as best as I could and then they gave me good feedback and I was like ‘Come on guys, it was horrifying.’ So, I’d like for there to be a little more criticism on the show.”
Jordin Sparks on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” – For any Jordin fans out there, be sure to check out her two-part interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night. During the chat, she talked about everything from her new movie “Sparkle” to being the youngest winner ever.
