Just how big of a “Simpsons” fan is Justin Bieber? Let’s just say that when he was a kid growing up in Stratford, Ontario, he had a poster of Bart on his wall — and now, it looks as though he is going to be making his own appearance on the long-running animated comedy.
This news was first announced by Bieber in a tweet that he later deleted for some reason from his account:
“just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy.”
Executive producer Al Jean has since spoken briefly to Entertainment Weekly to confirm the casting, and also explained a little bit about how Justin will cameo as himself for the episode:
“He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing in and they won’t admit him,” says Jean, quipping: “Draw your own conclusion … It’s a cameo, but all of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he’s on.”
With this statement, we don’t know whether or not Jean is hinting that Bieber may show up more than once on the show, or if he is just tying to get as many people to watch the episode as possible. “The Simpsons” runs a pretty long production cycle thanks to it being animation, and with that in mind this episode is sadly not going to air until some point next year. Meanwhile, it is still worth pointing out that the new season will officially kick off on Sunday, September 30 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
