For the upcoming fifth season of “Castle,” we are going to see the show take on all sorts of interesting mysteries — whether it be relationships, news organizations, or even the world of science fiction. So is the show about to delve even further into a world that Castle himself probably knows rather well? Based on the title of the fifth episode of the season, it certainly seems like it.
According to SpoilerTV, this installment is going to be entitled “Murder, He Wrote,” and we are hoping that this is somehow a tribute to the classic murder mystery show of a similar name — except with the legendary Angela Lansbury in the leading role. When you consider the subject matter of the two shows, really the biggest surprise here is that this tribute did not actually happen before now.
As we have said multiple times ever since the dramatic end to season 4, executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe is going as a whole for a more light-hearted and jovial vibe for the new season, and hopes to deal with many of the tougher subjects (such as the parameters for Castle and Beckett’s relationship and the case involving her mother) early in the season so that they can put the focus more so on the fun than anything else. We are just hoping that this title is really not some sort of cruel diversion away from what the story could be.
What do you think of this title, and are you hoping that this will lead towards all sorts of subtle tributes to the classic show?
