We are nearing the end of “Teen Mom’s” run on MTV, and it’s a bit of a strange feeling. Since its debut, the show has taken off and become at times even a lightning rod of controversy. At times, the political debate and the tabloid headlines have even worked to help us lose sight of the fact that this is still a television series about young women who are still struggling to find their way in the world — and the preview that you can see below helps in some ways to bring everything into perspective.
On Tuesday night’s new episode, we are going to see Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards make an effort to work through their own problems so that they can put up a united front for their son Bentley — even though they are not together as a romantic couple. Even though it can be tough sometimes, Bookout tells Us Weekly in a new interview that they still find a way to make it work:
“Bentley’s birthday was pretty emotional in dealing with the custody stuff with Ryan … Birthdays and holidays are the hardest because we have to share him.”
What will especially be interesting following the show’s finale this month is where some of these women go from here. The cameras are going to stop rolling, and this platform is going to disappear for them to promote some of their products. What is going to come next? Maci seems pretty well prepared for the future, and you can even say the same thing about Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell. As for Amber Portwood, let’s just say that she is still behind bars over an arrest that happened before the Christmas holiday.
