It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Shonda Rhimes likes to re-use certain actors for multiple projects — and now that she has a program in “Scandal” that is not necessarily in the same universe as “Grey’s Anatomy” or “Private Practice,” she is able more to do just that.
According to The Huffington Post, actor Steven Bailey is going to be taking the leap over from he world of Seattle to Washington DC — and here is what actress Darby Stanchfield had to say:
“Steven Bailey. He was [Joe] the bartender on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ and he’s coming to play with us … And he and I went to high school together! One of the things I adore about Shonda is her loyalty — she completely promotes from within. When she loves your talent, she nurtures it in a big way.”
Bailey is hardly the only actor who is going to be stopping by the series for a part this season, as Ann Cusack will also be making an appearance as a national security agency chief at some point during season 2 — and he same can be said for Broadway star Norm Lewis.
Despite only have a small handful of episodes to shine during season 1, “Scandal” still showed enough — and received positive enough reviews from the critics — to receive a much more substantial stretch of time to shine for the fall. The show also was the recipient of a great deal of Emmy buzz, even though it was not enough to get it much in the way of Emmy love in any of the primary categories.
