‘Basketball Wives’: Evelyn Lozada nixes public appearances after divorce

Mrs. Carter: A divorce apparently means an end to public appearances for one big-name reality star — at least for the time being.

According to a new report from TMZ, “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada has made the decision to cease everything that she has coming up for a little while — a slate that includes everything from a book tour to some promotional appearances she was planning to make alongside “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice.

While this may be disappointing to some of Evelyn’s fans, it does seem to be the right move. After all, going to these appearances would be being hounded by all sorts of questions pertaining to Chad Johnson, who was recently arrested after allegedly headbutting her during a heated argument over condoms found in his car. Lozada filed for divorce not long after the news broke that the NFL star was cut by the Miami Dolphins, and VH1 has already made their decision to smartly move on from their “Ev & Ocho” spin-off series that was going to feature the couple’s wedding ceremony filmed earlier this year. Lozada is still a part of the primary franchise, though, and should be included in the “Basketball Wives” project moving forward.

It’s unclear when Lozada is going to start making appearances again — but stay tuned, as we will have more news pertaining to this difficult time in her life. She is likely to eventually speak out on these issues, but do so under her own terms.

Do you think that Evelyn is making the right move given everything that is going on in her life right now? We want to hear from you below! To check out the first statement that Johnson has made about Lozada, be sure and read the story over here.
