It’s too bad that we are still over a month away from the season 9 premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” on September 27 — after all, it already sounds like the episode is ready to go based on what executive producer Shonda Rhimes is saying now.
In a new post on Twitter, Rhimes suggested that this first episode — one that should help to lay the groundwork for Eric Dane’s exit on the show — is already close to rocking and rolling on the small screen:
“GA 901 Season Premiere is locked, y’all. Am pretty proud of the work everyone did. SEASON 9: we still bring our A game!”
Even though we may already know about Dane’s departure after several years with the show, there still are a number of mysteries that remain — including what happens to Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) as a result of the plane crash along with whether or not any of our favorite doctors are going to transfer to new hospitals now that they have successfully passed the board exams. We know that Meredith, Derek, Alex, and Cristina are just four of the people who were considering it, but we can’t personally conceive in our mind a “Grey’s Anatomy” where so many of the characters were scattered across the country for more than just a few episodes — even if we know that there will be some new characters played by Gaius Charles and Camilla Luddington to help ease the transition of whatever happens. (Hopefully, we’ll have more information on the departing doctors soon.)
