With the launch of the new series of “The X Factor” UK now less than 24 hours away, it’s time to take a look at what some of our friends across the pond are doing to get the new show off the ground.
From our standpoint it actually feels like time for a singing competition overseas — hopefully everyone has forgotten about “The Voice” UK at this point, and Simon Cowell has already injected this show with an added dose of humor. How do we know? Just look at the new promo for the “Xtra Factor” aftershow below, which features Olly Murs doing his best Justin Bieber impression while Caroline Flack channels Nicki Minaj. In reality, both of these impressions are really quite terrible — but that really seems to be part of the point here. The aftershow is meant to be comical, while the series itself is the perfect mixture of humor and heart. (Sadly, Olly will be on tour until the start of the live shows later on in the fall, and Caroline will host the early portion of it by herself.)
Just in case you want a bonus promo, here’s one featuring judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, and newcomer Nicole Scherzinger all doing their best to try and convince Louis Walsh to actually sign on and join Twitter. (There are currently a bunch of fake accounts running amok.) The show promises that this “momentous occasion” will happen eventually, so we will keep you posted when it comes to that.
We’ll keep you posted when it comes to Louis but for now let’s just ask this — how excited are you for the new series? We’ll be beginning our coverage later this weekend, so stay tuned. If you want to check out some more scoop pertaining to the winner of the American show in Melanie Amaro, be sure and read our story here.
