‘Jane By Design’ canceled by ABC Family; ‘Switched at Birth,’ ‘Bunheads’ renewed

When it comes to your favorite ABC Family shows, we have a case of good news and bad news on Friday. There are some shows that are now officially coming back for additional seasons, where as one has now officially reached its end.

Check out a full list of the shows impacted by this announcement below.

Bunheads – This is more of a pseudo-renewal than anything else. The show has been given an additional winter season to its summer run, which is something that “Pretty Little Liars” has with regularity.

For those of us who want a touch of “Gilmore Girls” on the air … this is the closest thing that we really have.

“Switched at Birth” – The show has yet to even return to the air yet with new episodes, but it has already been given a full-season renewal.

“Melissa & Joey” – Want a third season? The good news is that it’s coming your way! ABC Family’s most-traditional comedy is going to have a home for a while longer. Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence are also two of the network’s biggest stars.

“Baby Daddy” – The newest addition to the ABC Family lineup will have a second season, which is great news for Chelsea Kane and the rest of the cast.

Now, we have to bring up some pretty sad news for another show in “Jane By Design.” After posting just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic for its season finale earlier this year — despite having an incredible lead-in “Pretty Little Liars” — the show has officially been canceled.
