Remember how Allyson Felix received an invitation to the set of “Scandal” after she announced it to be one of her favorite TV shows during the 2012 Summer Games in London? Well, let’s just say that she has already taken the show up on their offer.
As the photo to the left via Felix’s Instagram clearly shows, the Olympic runner clearly got an opportunity to have a little bit of fun with the cast and crew in the middle of the group filming season 2. She also posted the following message on her Twitter account to go along with it:
“Had the most AMAZING day hanging w/ the
@scandalabc crew! They are the best!”
During the Olympics this year, it almost became a bit of a tradition for celebrities and TV shows to acknowledge the Olympians who counted themselves as fans. Justin Bieber sent a number of messages out to swimmer Missy Franklin after she proclaimed herself to be a big fan, and gymnast Gabby Douglas had a special video made for her by the cast of “The Vampire Diaries” after she scored a gold medal in the all-around competition. The Olympics were ratings gold, and the attention the athletes brought to some of these shows and stars can only help them in the future.
“Scandal” season 2 is going to officially premiere on ABC on Thursday, September 27 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and it will follow up another hit Shonda Rhimes shows in “Grey’s Anatomy.” Most of the plot for this season is still under lock and key, but expect Kerry Washington to find herself more trouble to deal with than ever before.
How cool do you think it was for executive producer Shonda Rhimes to do something like this in support of Felix? Be sure and share some of your thoughts below!
