“American Horror Story” has finally unveiled their first teaser trailer for season 2 (dubbed “Asylum”) — and while it does not reveal much about what we can expect moving forward, it’s still more than a little bit exciting.
You can check out the teaser clip below, and what it shows off is really rather simple — a nun (who could very well be Jessica Lange’s character) walking along in a forest who decides to dump out what seems to be a human head out of one of her buckets. It’s certainly a creepy piece of imagery, and it suggests that these nuns are not necessarily going to be the kind to sit around in prayer circles all day long.
This season is not meant to be the same sort of horror as we saw in season 1 — executive producer Ryan Murphy has already proclaimed that this show will have more traditional scares and less in the way of supernatural appearances. Therefore, don’t expect ghosts or the return of the Rubber Man (as this contains no connection at all to the previous season). The story this time will be set at an insane asylum in 1960s Boston, and Lange’s character is supposedly the one running the show. Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, and Sarah Paulson are all returning for more this year, and will be joined by the likes of newcomers Adam Levine, Jenna Dewan, Chris Zylka, and Marc Consuelos.
