Rather than give us much in the way of actual plot spoilers for “The Walking Dead” season 3 at the moment, AMC has decided to remind us just how fantastic their makeup and special effects teams are by giving us a look at the actual “dead” that we are going to be seeing this coming season.
With this first photo, really the best thing you get out of it is proof that the survivors are not going to be alone in the prison that will serve largely as the setting for the new season. The walkers will be a constant presence — and if they look as good as the one pictured here does, this is going to get ugly. The other walker that we have a glimpse of here appears to be in some sort of town, which could be the settlement that The Governor (David Morrissey) has created for his own ruthless band of humans — or it could also just be the exterior of the prison depending on how dark and run-down his place really is.
Morrissey along with Danai Gurira (Michonne) are the two most high-profile guest stars stopping by for this new season, which will premiere on AMC October 14 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Hopefully, the network will find some way to stop their ugly dispute with Dish Network by that time so that the series will have a chance to shatter some of the previous records for viewership in adults 18-49. (The season 2 finale was the most-watched episode of a scripted show in this key demographic ever in the history of cable.)
Do you read anything into these two photos at all, or are they to you just cool for the sake of being cool? If you want to check out the latest on AMC’s battle with Dish, be sure read our story over at this link.
