‘Dexter’ season 7 trailer: Deb cries, [spoiler] gets a needle

Showtime has finally revealed their full season 7 trailer for “Dexter,” and there is one thing we can promise based off of it — this is going to be a rough year for Debra Morgan. Fresh off of learning that her brother is a killer, she’s going to have to figure out how exactly she wants to deal with it — or if she can even deal with it at all.

Probably the roughest moment of the entire trailer is when we see Jennifer Carpenter’s character convulsing in a heap of her own tears outside, still probably struggling to deal with some of the painful imagery that she saw with Dexter plunging a knife deep into Travis Marshall’s heart. She decided not to turn him in at that moment, and because of that she is starting to hallucinate seeing him kill other people. Masuka is a “victim” in this trailer, and it also looks like the creepy tech guru Louis gets a needle — though this one appears not to be dream. (Remember, the guy did send Dexter the Ice Truck Killer’s hand.)

What is interesting is that in the middle of all this Dexter / Deb drama, there is no mention of any of the new characters for the season — including Ray Stevenson’s Isaac or Yvonne Strahovski’s Hannah McKay. Granted, they do not become as much of a priority until a little later on, and producers obviously want to highlight the shocker from last season as much as they possibly can before bringing in too many other faces.

What do you think about this trailer? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! To check out some more scoop on who could be the “Big Bad” this year, be sure and read our story over here.
