When it comes to the major characters on “Game of Thrones,” it is pretty much a given that most of them are going to be returning for season 3. But what about some of the supporting players in Westeros? This is where you have to rely more on sightings, reports from agents, and whatever information ends up hitting the internet.
What is interesting is that the new report from show site Winter Is Coming is all about three actors who are going to be returning to the show, but all of them have been absent from the show since season 1.
Josel Altin – Best known for his character of Pyp, who was left at Castle Black when the rangers traveled Beyond the Wall at the start of season 2.
Luke McEwan – He plays Rast, and was famous for giving both Jon Snow and Samwell a hard time. Given that these two are now in separate places, we are assuming that he will be seen more in Samwell’s storyline now.
Ian McElhinney – We’re not sure how he is coming back, but he is playing the former Lord Commander of the Kingsguard in Ser Barristan Selmy.
There still are some major castings to be announced for this season, with the most notable one being the King Beyond the Wall Mance Rayder. This is going to be an interesting part to cast, mostly because we are sure that the show wants an accomplished actor for the meaty part. With that being said, it may be hard to get someone to uproot their life and spent months on end filming in Iceland later this year.
