‘The Good Wife’ season 4 spoilers: Is a ‘GCB’ star replacing Kristin Chenoweth?

We’ve heard of irony before coming through in the world of television casting — but the following story may somehow take the cake for being one of the strangest of the year so far.

According to TVLine, actress Miriam Shor — who should be best known to some viewers for playing the role of Cricket Caruth-Reilly on the short-lived ABC drama “GCB” — has now been brought on board “The Good Wife” to play the role of a journalist involved in politics. As you may remember, Shor’s former co-star Kristin Chenoweth was cast to play a nearly identical sort of role earlier this season — that is before an injury on set caused her to cut her run short at just one episode. (The photo to the left is of this episode.)

So is Shor playing the same role as Chenoweth? It doesn’t look like it. A source says that she is not a direct replacement, and that the intention for the writers was to always have more than one journalist working to examine Peter’s relationship with Alicia — at the same time, though, this character is likely to get much more screen time now that Kristin is off trying to recover. Shor joins a guest cast that still includes the likes of Maura Tierney and Nathan Lane this fall — and they follow such memorable turns from Matthew Perry and Michael J. Fox.

What do you think about this new casting, and do you think it’s possible that we could ever see Kristin on this show again at some point down the road? We want to hear from you below! “The Good Wife” will premiere season 4 on Sunday, September 30 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and you can find out more about the Chenoweth injury by visiting the story over at this link.
