‘Basketball Wives’: Chad Johnson releases statement on Evelyn Lozada

Mrs. Carter: Chad’s finally talking about the situation, is it too little too late?

Just mere hours after Evelyn Lozada made it clear that she is divorcing Chad Johnson after just over 40 days of marriage, the NFL star is now speaking out and saying that contrary to what some previous stories out there may have said, the entire arrest for domestic violence was his fault and he is sorry about it.

Check out the full statement from Johnson below:

“I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death.

“I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.”

The ramifications of Johnson’s actually have already been felt in a pretty big way. He was cut from the Miami Dolphins just one day after this new was made public, and VH1 has also announced that Evelyn’s “Basketball Wives” spin-off series “Ev & Ocho” is not going to air as originally planned. This is a big production hit for the network, and something that he may be in more trouble for than just about anything else away from his marriage.

Will Johnson land another job in football at some point? It’s probable, mostly because he is still young enough to play and there are teams out there who could become desperate for a wide receiver at some point later in the season. With that being said, he is going to have to seriously prove that he has matured in a way to be a team player, and this arrest is going to haunt him for some time.

Do you think that Chad will get a job again soon, and do you buy his apology? You can read more about his divorce by heading over to the link here.
