At some point on this upcoming season of “How I Met Your Mother,” we know that Barney and Quinn are going to be going their separate ways. After all, it was revealed that Robin is ultimately the women that he marries — and from a logistical standpoint, Becki Newton has another gig in “The Goodwin Games” coming up that will keep her from being a part of this show for too much longer.
Now, we know a few more details about a story that may very well be the end for her character on the show. According to a report from TVLine, Bob Odenkirk of “Breaking Bad” fame is set to return in the second episode of season 8 as Barney’s boss at Goliath National Bank, and will be doing so as his corporate lawyer works with Barney to negotiate his prenuptial agreement. We don’t know what exactly happens here, but suffice it to say that talks do not go well. Is this the straw that will break the camel’s back when it comes to him and Quinn? We don’t know that just yet, but expect it to be a definite source of tension.
Even once Barney and Quinn do break up, there will be some stepping stones that are between this and him getting back with Robin. For example, she is going to be dating a new man (previously known as just “Crush”) played by Michael Trucco, and it is possible that he will go back to his womanizing ways in order to pass the time a little bit.
