Apparently, Paul Wesley must have been joking when it came to his claim that we would be seeing more a sensitive side of Damon Salvatore this year on “The Vampire Diaries” — based on what executive producer Julie Plec is saying now, he is going to be up to some of his old ways. And by “old ways,” we are talking about the Damon that we saw during season 1.
Speaking to TVLine on this very subject, here is what Plec specifically had to say:
“This year, Damon is the Damon of Season 1, minus the posturing and posing … He just is. He is who he is. He’s got attitude. He’s always right. He’s rarely wrong. He might do the wrong thing, but he’s always the one who’s like, ‘I told you guys. You should have listened to me.’ So this year is going to be very much about, ‘You don’t like me. You want to judge me. You don’t like who I am, how I do things? Well, screw you.’ It’s going to be a great shift for him… He’s still going to be the Damon we know and love — he’s still going to be kicking a– and taking names. But he just has this devil may care attitude about it. He’s just not going to change for anybody anymore. He did that. That’s over. That’s so last year.”
Will this change the way in which he acts around Elena? We are currently betting on it — at least to an extent. Of course, we are sure that the feelings are still going to be there on his end, and the feelings for Elena are likely going to change once she realizes just what sort of secrets that Damon has glamoured out of her mind.
Do you think Damon being back to his ruthless ways is good for the show, especially since Stefan seemed to be taking the reigns more so last year in this department? We want to hear from you below!
