According to TVLine, Lochte (whose 11 Olympic medals were largely overshadowed by Michael Phelps until this year) is slated to appear in an upcoming episode of “90210” in a role that should not challenge him too much — himself. He will be staying at a resort that is also visited by Max and Noami, who are now back together and trying to work out some of the issues in their relationship and improve their standing as a couple.
Anyone who has bee following Lochte’s interview circuit in the past few weeks likely is already pretty well aware of his desire to swim deep into the television world — however, he had never mentioned scripted TV as some of his desired pursuits. He claims that “The Bachelor” is a personal dream project of his, as would be appearing on “Dancing with the Stars” (presumably in the spring, possibly alongside Michael) and getting an opportunity to stay competitive. Unlike Phelps, Lochte has not ruled out a return to swimming in the Rio de Janeiro Games in four years, and these bookings are all ways for him to keep a sizable profile and a fan base going for a little while longer.
When you consider the rich history “90210” has when it comes to guest stars, do you think that this is the perfect fit for him to make his scripted television debut? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! To check out some more scoop on a certain “Call Me Maybe” singer making an appearance this coming season, be sure to follow the link here.
For those curious Michael will be making his own TV appearance coming up on the Golf Channel series “The Haney Project.”
