It’s a pretty quiet morning on the “American Idol” front, but we do still have a few stories to share as a part of our newest edition of show “notes” beginning with a song Kelly Clarkson has just recorded specifically for her hometown football team.
Introducing “Get Up” – If you love Kelly, you probably already know that the original champ hails from the Dallas / Fort Worth area — and with that in mind, the Cowboys are her team. With the help of Pepsi and the NFL, Kelly has recorded a new song entitled “Get Up” for the sole purpose of getting Cowboys fans excited for the team this coming season. Think of it as the “I’ve Been Waiting All Day For Sunday Night,” but with a specific touch of the silver and blue.
It’s a fun song, and it’s really exactly what you would expect — an anthem from a Texan supporting her hometown team.
Skylar Laine back in the studio – Since we wrote yesterday about Jessica Sanchez working on her debut album, it only seems fair to also throw in here that Skylar Laine is also hard at work. Skylar announced the news on her Twitter account that she was recording, and we are beyond excited to see what the final product is going to sound like here. Why? We’re curious to see how much of Skylar’s own classic country influences are going to be a part of the music here, or if the music labels are going to push her into doing something a little more pop-oriented and contemporary to appeal to a wide audience.
Lee hypes up his own album – Finally, we’ll close with a comment from Lee DeWyze that shoudl make everyone excited to hear what he has coming up for his in the near future:
“Just listened to all the music for my album. I’m really, really excited. Can’t wait to share, y’all are truly the best.”
Lee’s album does not have a release date just yet, but we will have more information once it is made available.
