For our second edition of “American Idol” notes for the day, we have a good bit of information to touch on — including some exciting news when it comes to Jessica Sanchez’s debut album coming up this November.
Jessica’s still recording… – Just in case you thought that the reigning runner-up was going to be slowed at all when it comes to recording sessions, think again. In a new series of posts on her Twitter account Monday afternoon, she announced that she was going back into the studio to do work on her debut. So what sort of music is she making? All we know is that she is going for some that is a bit of a mixture of urban pop and R&B, and that this is an undertaking that she first started up right around the time this past season ended.
Carrie Underwood’s weekend – So what did you do this weekend? It’s going to have a hard time comparing Carrie Underwood’s festivities in Toronto. Not only did the season 4 champ perform at a nearby music festival (and travel there via helicopter!), but she also had the honor of throwing out the first pitch during a Blue Jays game versus the New York Yankees.
Carrie happens to be rather familiar with Canada, as her husband Mike Fisher hails from the province on Ontario and grew up playing hockey in the region. He also played for the Ottawa Senators prior to his current home in Nashville.
Jennifer Lopez wishes Mariah Carey well – Only a matter of weeks after leaving “American Idol” herself after two seasons, Jennifer Lopez is admitting one thing — she really doesn’t know Mariah Carey well enough to know just what sort of judge she is going to be on this coming season.
In a new interview with “Extra,” here is what Lopez had to say about if Mariah would be tough on contestants:
“I don’t know. I don’t know her personality that well. I think she’ll enjoy it, is what I can say. I did.”
