‘The Glee Project’ finale adds NeNe Leakes for aftershow

As if “The Glee Project” finale on Tuesday night was not enough of an event for Oxygen, the network has also now decided to add a special aftershow online where fans can find out even more information about who is going to be winning a seven-episode arc on “Glee” season 4.

The special is going to be co-hosted by “Glee’s” own casting director in Robert Ulrich, and he will be joined by someone who is rather familiar to anything and everything related to Ryan Murphy at the moment — NeNe Leakes, She first teamed up with Murphy to play swim coach Roz Washington on “Glee” earlier this year, and she has moved now into a major spot on the NBC series “The New Normal.” Her role as Rocky there is currently recurring, but it’s possible that she could end up becoming a series regular if the show ends up getting a second season and she is well-received as a character.

“The Glee Project” has not been a ratings monster for Oxygen by any means, but it has brought the network a demographic of people that it did not have prior to the show — teenagers and other young adults. It’s hard to ignore the show’s impact on social media, and its presence in the digital world may be enough to get it a third season so long as “Glee” also lasts long enough for it to happen.

Do you think this aftershow is yet another great way to give back to fans? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can also check out a new promo for Tuesday night’s episode. If you want to check out just who we think is going to walk away with the title this season, be sure and read the story here.
