For those of you looking for a tiny piece of “Dexter” scoop worth speculating about on this Monday morning, we have it for you right here in the form of an episode title.
According to site Dexter Daily, the eighth episode of this coming season (which will air on November 18) is going to be entitled “Argentina.” What does this mean? At this point, it’s almost impossible to know — and in some ways, it’s better off not knowing since we’re not about sharing gigantic plot spoilers here. (Isn’t it really more fun to speculate?)
If you remember back to last season, we also saw an episode named after a specific location in “Nebraska” — which is where we saw Dexter (with the spirit of Rudy at his side) take off to the midwest in the middle of the Doomsday Killer case to track down Trinity’s son and figure out if he was starting to exhibit some of the traits of dear ol’ dad. It was an episode meant to tie up one of the biggest loose ends for the show (though we still have many others), and while this was important it remains one of the strangest episodes of this show that we have seen in its entire run. Are they planning to do something similar here by sending Dexter off to South America?
Of course, the fundamental difference here between “Nebraska” and “Argentina” is that the latter can also be a name, or it could be a reference to some sort of code or a part of a new character’s past. There are so many possibilities as to what it could really mean, and it’s possible that producers created this title with the intention of trying to throw people like us off the scent thinking that Dexter was going to go down to Buneos Aires.
What do you think about the title? We want to hear some of your theories below! To check out some more scoop from this season when it comes to Yvonne Strahovski’s character of Hannah McKay, be sure to read the story here!
