We have some new scoop coming out about “Glee’s” fourth season that has been rumored for some time — but unfortunately, we don’t quite know every detail about it just yet.
According to Entertainment Weekly, some members of New Directions are going to tackle a song that has been covered so many times in the past few years that you can make an anthology just out of these alone — Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.” What’s not clear is whether or not it is going to be the new New Directions that is going to be taking on the song, or if it will be a mash-up between the current group with Blaine, Artie, Brittany, and some of the graduated seniors like Rachel and Kurt.
Rumors have been circling for weeks that the song would indeed be covered, and it was really just a question of when rather than if the song was going to be performed. In some ways, you could say that the song even fits the story at the moment — telephones, emails, and the like are going to be essential this year for some of the students who try and keep in contact with each other. While it was almost guaranteed that you would not stay in touch with people you met during high school at one point in life, that is hardly the way that it is anymore thanks to all of the communication methods established by the internet.
Do you think that Jepsen’s song is a great one for the “Glee” cast to use to start off the season, or are you starting to think that it has been covered so much that some of the original feeling is lost? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! To check out some more scoop pertaining to Chris Colfer’s upcoming storyline, be sure and read our story here.
