When you play a character on “Dexter,” there is one thing you get used to pretty quickly — learning how to say just enough to keep people interested, but also hide everything pertaining to the plot that will prohibit something from being a surprise.
For Yvonne Strahovski, shielding details about her character Hannah McKay has been almost akin to guarding a secret with your life. We still don’t exactly know much about who she is outside of having a “dark past” and being involved in some sort of crimes with an old boyfriend. While we may not find out much about this aspect of her life just yet, Strahovski was able to share at least the following details about her character in a new interview with IGN:
“I think she seems like a pretty normal, slightly tomboy-ish, sexy girl. She’s probably the most sort of physically free character that I’ve played, I think — just comparing her to somebody like [‘Chuck’s’] Sarah Walker, who’s kind of rigid. But you pretty quickly find out what her deal is and why they are approaching her to help with this particular murder case. But on the outside, she just seems like a fun-loving girl!”
Strahovski will not appear during the show’s season 7 premiere, but will kick off her arc not too long after that. While we expect her to be around for most of the season, you never quite know for sure — after all, we thought that Yasiin Bey’s character of Brother Sam was going to be around for all of season 6, and he was dead about midway through. (Note: Bey was using the stage name of “Mos” when he filmed his arc on the show.)
