Last week, it was revealed that Michael Raymond-James of “True Blood” and “The Walking Dead” fame had landed a role on the second season of “Once Upon a Time” — and we also now know that he is already in Storybrooke (otherwise known as British Columbia) starting his work on the show.
In a series of posts on Twitter, Raymond-James stated that he was heading to location on Thursday to begin work on this show — with that in mind, we’re not sure if his character is going to be appearing in the September 30 premiere given that they have been shooting that for quite a while. As for who he is actually playing, that is still a mystery — one that executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz do not intend on revealing anytime soon. In some ways, we are actually happy about this — considering that we already know about Sleeping Beauty, Prince Phillip, Lancelot, Mulan, and Captain Hook, shouldn’t there at least be one thing that we can be surprised about?
The challenge for season 2 really is pretty simple — trying to find a way to keep the story as intense despite the main plot of the first season — trying to figure out how to break the curse in Storybrooke — already being over. This time around, we anticipate the question being something along the lines of “why are we all still here”? If the curse had really worked as it was supposed to, all of these characters would have been back in their previous world. Instead, we now have their memories restored in Storybrooke, and magic is starting to course the streets to the benefit of Rumpelstiltskin and the Evil Queen.
