When “Last Man Standing” is going to return on ABC later this fall, it is going to be doing so with a cast that is far and away different from what we saw the first time around. As a matter of fact, pretty much an entire division of the Baxter family is going to be replaced (including one person in the photo to the left).
According to Entertainment Weekly, new showrunner Tim Doyle (“Better Off Ted”) has already recast the role of Kristin, who is the eldest daughter of Tim Allen’s Mike Baxter and was played by Alexandra Krosney. The character will now be played by Amanda Fuller, fresh off an arc on “Grey’s Anatomy” as possible love interest for Dr. Alex Karev. Flynn Morrison is also now going to play her son, who is going to have aged to around five years old by the start of the new season.
In other sad news for Jonas Brothers fans, the show is also re-casting the part of Kristin’s baby daddy, mostly so that they can give Mike a foil that will be around for more of the season. Nick Jonas played the part during a season 1 guest spot, but due to his other commitments (which may include “American Idol” this coming season), he’s probably not an easy enough actor to schedule out. With that, expect the show to try and drop in their big-name guest stars somewhere else. (Jonas and Kim Kardashian were the two high-profile guest actors during the first season.)
