“Grey’s Anatomy” is getting ever closer to its September 27 season premiere, and we now have something new and rather important to discuss — the episode’s title.
According to a new report from TVLine, the first episode of this upcoming season is going to carry with it the rather ominous name of “Going, Going, Gone” — something that clearly suggests loss for a number of doctors at Seattle Grace. We already know that Cyler Leigh’s Lexie is dead, and that Kim Raver is not going to be returning as Teddy. Will Eric Dane’s Mark die in this episode? We already know that the actor is leaving the show, but it has not been revealed yet just what his character’s fate is going to be. There is also the issue of Jessica Capshaw’s Arizona, who is a bit of a mystery given that she was also a part of the crash we saw in the season 8 finale.
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes has already said that the premiere is going to focus first and foremost on what happens an undisclosed amount of time after the doctors have been rescued, and the second episode will really be the one to talk more about how some of these doctors were rescued. Therefore, it’s pretty safe to assume that we will at least see some of these actors for two episodes regardless of whether or not they are leaving. After that, it really is up in the air.
What do you think about the premiere’s title, and how badly do you think that it bodes for the future of some of these characters? Be sure and share your thoughts with a comment below!
