You already know Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid as members of the judging panel on “The X Factor” — and with that in mind, the producers behind the hit Fox show have decided to really let their other two judges take center stage for their brand-new promotional poster.
The key art below was first posted over at TVLine, and it shows off what is very much a major makeover for the Fox reality competition. Rather than drown out the poster with intimidating reds and other dark colors, the show went instead for something that was bright, geared more to a female audience, and highlighted with a playful tagline that did not suggest that the show was a 500-pound anvil of blaring music weighing down on your soul. The biggest thing the show needed to do after a subpar first outing was loosen up, and this poster suggests that they are doing just that — though it wouldn’t hurt Simon to show off a little bit less of the chest hair.
While Britney Spears is the new ratings draw of the panel courtesy of her extensive career and status as a pop icon, it is actually Demi Lovato who has been drawing most of the rave reviews from the auditions rounds. Many on-set witnesses have described her as honest, funny, and also unafraid to go toe-to-toe with Simon in a way that is reminiscent of some of the early days of “American Idol.” Meanwhile, Britney has been described as being more business-oriented on the show and less about giving Simon a hard time.
