Since “Castle” is very much about Nathan Fillion’s title character, we do admittedly spend a great deal of time analyzing just what is going on when it comes to both him and Stana Katic’s character of Beckett. However, shouldn’t we let the supporting characters shine every now and then? With that in mind, we are placing the focus instead today on Jon Huertas’ Esposito, and just what is going to happen this season when it comes to his character and Lanie.
Speaking to TVLine in a new interview, Huertas explains that there is really not anything different in the relationship between these two characters when season 5 picks up on Monday, September 24 — and this really does make a great deal of sense when you remember that there is very little in the way of a time jump between one season to the next:
“There are still booty calls going on … She’ll make a booty call to me, and I follow through. After all, I never want to leave a damsel in distress!”
Can this really last forever? We’re skeptical, if for no other reason than that eventually one of these two is going to want something more than just being friends who also happen to hook up on the side. Therefore, they will either have to realize that they want to turn this relationship into something serious, or ultimately go their separate ways. We just don’t know if this is a decision that will need to be made at any point in the immediate future.
What do you want to see happen with these two characters over season 5? We want to hear from you below! To find out some more about the secrets that are being hidden on this new season in regards to Beckett, be sure to head on over to this link.
