By now, you have probably already heard the sad news that Damian McGinty is not going to be returning as Rory Flanagan for at least the first half of “Glee” season 4 (and possibly longer). However, we do at least have something nice to share when it comes to the actor / singer — he’s making a cameo on “The Glee Project” season finale! For those of you wondering just why he wasn’t including as a mentor for any of the episodes, you now official have your answer.
Unfortunately, McGinty’s appearance here is really just of the “blink and you’ll miss it” variety in the final music video of the season in “Tonight, Tonight” — which has a rather interesting “Glee” connection of its own as one of Hot Chelle Rae’s band members is actually Chord Overstreet’s brother Nash. The song has a senior prom theme, and mostly revolves around the final three contenders in Blake Jenner, Ali Stroker (who seems to actually be playing the bad girl of the dance), and Aylin Bayramoglu. All of the previously-eliminated contestants from this season (at least the ones who didn’t quit) are back to take part in the video here, and we get to see some pretty great dance moves from Charlie Lubeck and Shanna Henderson.
Who do we think is going to win? We’re going to save that for our finale rankings this weekend, but we’re starting to get a pretty good idea based on individual edits and who Ryan Murphy and the staff are probably going to want to write about the most. For now, let’s just ask the following two questions — are you happy to see Damian make a cameo, and who are you rooting for to win?
