On this coming season of “The Vampire Diaries,” get ready to see a whole new side of Stefan — and to ultimately see this side for an extended period of time. We know that Stefan’s character is going to embracing his ripper past now courtesy of his deal with Klaus, and it now also looks as though we will be seeing this side of the character for a significant stretch of time.
Speaking in a new interview, show executive producer Julie Plec explains that this change in Stefan’s behavior is going to in turn create a rather different dynamic when it comes to his relationship with Elena (who is now currently stuck with just Damon out of the two Salvatore brothers):
“You’re going to see a very, very, very definitively different version of their relationship. Not just [in] one episode, but over a good part of the season.”
If we had to pick a winner for the character likely to benefit most from this transformation, it is undoubtedly Joseph Morgan’s Klaus — who says that this change is going to enable the show to do all sorts of experimentation:
“What we’re going to get to see is how dark Stefan can go. The interesting thing is that Klaus has given Stefan permission to release that darker side of himself. We’re going to see…what Klaus’ ultimate goal is with Stefan and for Stefan.”
Why do you think Klaus wanted Stefan more than anyone else to be his “sidekick” of sorts?
