Are you ready for the new season of “The X Factor” to arrive across the pond? We already know that the show with Simon Cowell will premiere here in the United States on September 12, and now we also know the official premiere is overseas is going to be nearly a month earlier than that.
It seems a bit strange to announce details about a TV series premiering such a short time in advance, but the show — which features now Nicole Scherzinger (who was fired from the American show last year) alongside Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, and Tulisa Cotostavlos — will launch on Saturday, August 18 at 8:00 p.m. local time. It will be placed between two episodes of the game show “Red or Black,” and also run for 75 minutes.
While the ratings for the series were down last year, the show has developed quite a reputation as of late when it comes to producing some pretty major stars both in the UK and around the world. Here in America, Leona Lewis, One Direction, Cher Lloyd, and even to an extent now Olly Murs are names that people are starting to talk about, and we also have a feeling that the reigning champs in Little Mix will make the jump to America at some point next year with the same sort of marketing plan that has turned Harry Styles and company into one of the biggest groups in the world despite having only one album.
It’s not easy for viewers outside of Britain to catch the series, but don’t worry — there are YouTube videos uploaded after each show, and we will have full impressions here all season so you don’t miss a beat.
Are you excited for the next season, and are you in agreement with us that even without Cowell, it is the better of the two versions? To check out a new promo that features both One Direction and Little Mix, be sure to follow the link here.
