We have already heard about the future of a number of “Glee” characters beyond season 3, but there are plenty of question marks out there when it comes to some McKinley High graduates — and Mike Chang is one of them. New Directions’ resident dancer is in a relationship with Tina, and he is tragically leaving just as actor Harry Shum Jr. was starting to come into form with some great episodes.
Thankfully, though, we do now have a few valuable pieces of information here worth sharing courtesy of Shum himself. In an interview with Wetpaint, he teased that his character is going to be training at the Joffrey Ballet School in Chicago, and also added that this long-distance relationship with Tina could lead to some trouble down the road:
“Well, let’s put it this way. They’ve been together for two years. She’s maybe the top dog at school. And Mike is with hundreds of girls and maybe three guys in the ballet school. So I don’t know. There’s temptation, like in the real world. There’s always temptation. Hopefully nothing bad will happen, but at the end of the day, for drama’s sake, hopefully something will.”
As for when you are going to be able to see Shum on he show, you are unfortunately going to be waiting for at least a little while. The actor will not be making his first appearance on the season until at least a few episodes in, but, as with every other regular this coming season, he is going to appear and be an important part of the story.
Do you want to see Mike and Tina stay together — or, for the sake of drama, do you think it is better if they break up? To check out some more scoop in regards to Sue Sylvester’s plot for this upcoming season, be sure to check out the link here.
