You can find out new things about your relationship through looking at it from the eyes of someone else, and that is what we are probably going to see courtesy of a storyline early on during season 8 of “Bones.” As we reported previously, an upcoming episode of the show (specifically the second one back following the start of the new season) is going to feature the likes of Booth and Brennan examining the case of a dead divorce attorney whose wife just so happened to be having a secret affair with his secretary.
At the time this case unfolds, Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz’s characters are each going to going through some major turmoil thanks to what happened during the season 7 finale, and speaking to TV Guide executive producer Stephen Nathan had the following to say about how looking at this failed relationship will cause them to look at their own:
“[It’s] at a time when Booth and Brennan are just coming back together after being separated so long, … It’s a very difficult thing when you have just started a family and all of a sudden it’s torn asunder. It will be an issue that exists between them.”
At the end of the day, we have a feeling that these two are going to find a way to work it out — mostly because the last few years of the show would be pretty much worthless otherwise even if there is now a kid in the picture. If nothing else, though, you do have to give Nathan and the writing staff credit for making sure that there is some heated conflict in this relationship after the characters got together, mostly because shows too often assume that “happily ever afters” come with no problems or strings attached.
How long do you think that Booth and Brennan being apart over the summer is going to remain an issue? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! To check out some more scoop about this particular episode of the show, be sure to pay a visit to this link.
