‘Jersey Shore’ cast releases post-season 6 video to promote voting

If you remember back at the end of “Jersey Shore” season 6 filming, the cast all returned to the house one final time after moving out — butt it was not to film any more scenes for their show. Rather, the gang assembled in order to film a new Funny or Die video in conjunction with MTV’s “Power of 12” campaign to boost voting for young people — and you can check out the clip below.

Really, the video is not so much funny in a rolling-on-the-floor sense, but it does get its point across in an interesting way that it is important to be informed on politics leading up to the election. Here’s what you need to know:

-In many ways, the video plays out like a two-minute version of a “Jersey Shore” episode. Everyone starts out pretty apathetic, but gets more and more intense as it goes along. At some point, there is a big fight with lots of screaming … but everyone works it out by the end.

-Snooki mentions that she has a baby in her at least twice — just in case anyone had managed to forget in the midst of the hundreds of other times she has said these very words.

-A new definition for “GTL” is created.

-There is even one of those mock whispering sessions where the guys traditionally try and stir up some drama in the house.

Overall, let’s hope that the video at least helps to get people aware of the issues that are out there in our country, even if some of the cast members themselves didn’t sound like they understood much of what they were saying. Regardless of your political affiliation, voting has taken a downward turn so far this year, and it’s time to turn it back around.
