For those of you wanting a quick resolution to the case surrounding Beckett’s mom on “Castle,” we have some good news — there will be some answers coming your way later this season. However, it’s possible that not all of these answers are going to please everyone.
Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, show executive producer Andrew Marlowe had the following to say about just what we can expect from the story involving Jack Coleman’s new character — a United States Senator who is able to present some new information to Beckett. Unfortunately, some of the information handed to her about her mother’s case may not be what exactly she wants to hear:
“It’s going to spin our characters in a different emotional direction … Once Beckett has that knowledge, what’s she going to do with it and who is she going to become?”
While we have heard overall that season 5 is going to be more focused on fun than season 4 was at times, that doesn’t mean that a few characters will shy away from dark moments — and if Beckett finds out something about her mother that she does not want to hear, it may make her start to question the person that she is and the reason she joined the police force to begin with. It’s possible that the secrets being hidden from her are not of the sinister sort — and let’s hope so, since nobody wants to see their personal hero destroyed before their eyes. Coleman is expected to appear on multiple occasions throughout the season — so don’t expect his presence to be limited even after he starts to divulge information.
