Is Sheldon Cooper going to meet another woman on this upcoming season of “The Big Bang Theory“? It sounds like it, but this is no guarantee that Amy Farrah Fowler has anything to worry about.
According to a report from TVLine, producers behind the CBS megahit are currently casting a character named Alex — one who is described as being a smart and attractive graduate student in physics who spends some time with Jim Parsons’ Emmy-winning character. Based largely on the fact that Sheldon really doesn’t have much of an idea what romance really is, we don’t think that there is really going to be any love connection here at all — however, that doesn’t mean that Mayim Bialik’s character may or may not be sniffing around to make sure.
While this is mere speculation our part, wouldn’t it be interesting to see a storyline themed around what happens when a jealous Amy goes on the loose to protect her man? We’ve never seen her channel rage in a way like this before, and based on how she channels many of her other emotions, we can already picture some of the laughs — plus the brilliant sort of confusion on Sheldon’s part when he doesn’t get that this new graduate student is potentially hitting on him. Regardless of what happens here, we have a feeling that it will be pretty hilarious — mostly because anything that involves our favorite “Big Bang” couple traditionally is.
Do you think an “Amy gets jealous” storyline would be comedic gold, or would you be more interested in just seeing him develop a friend that was actually out of the group that he already has?
