The season 3 premiere of “The Walking Dead” on October 14 may still be over two months away, but why shouldn’t you get a little bit excited beforehand? With that in mind, get ready to smile courtesy of the new photo to the left.
The image released by AMC to the left (which you can get a larger view of by clicking on it) shows off all of the primary characters who are going to be featured on the coming season — including our notable new arrival Michonne (Danai Gurira) with her sword. Andrew Lincoln’s Rick also looks especially angry at the front, which may be a sign that we are going to see a darker side to the character as promised in the past.
The whole theme of this coming season is especially intriguing — we are moving to a prison setting after spending a season on Hershel’s arm, and these survivors are going to realize that they need to fight more than just walkers — they need to fight each other. Expect The Governor (David Morrissey) to be as violent and as evil as he is in the Robert Kirkman series, and his presence is going to impact every character in different and dangerous ways.
Expectations are definitely through the roof for this season — after all, just remember that this show is the highest-rated series on cable with adults 18-49, and that is not likely to change this year even without Dish Network broadcasting AMC.
