As we wrote recently, there is going to be a new member of the faculty stopping by on the fourth season of “Community,” and this one is going to appear on paper to be far too good for a two-bit community college run by a man with a creepy obsession for dalmatians. However, this same individual is going to have a personal life that is in shambles, and is going to eventually come apart at the scenes on the show.
According to TVLine, “Little Britain” star Matt Lucas has booked the role, and it looks as though the new production staff has gained a little bit of our confidence. Outside of a part in “Bridesmaids,” Lucas may not be well-known here in America — but he was a star of “Little Britain” and also is a very funny man. Lucas will appear in a handful of episodes in season 4, and we are already hoping that it manages to be more than the few that featured Michael K. Williams or the one that Betty White was in back in season 2.
While we are starting to near the premiere dates for a number of shows on primetime, the October 19 start for “Community” is still a while away. As for what we can say for sure is happening, expect the tension between Britta and Troy to rise to another level, and for the gang to attend some sort of Inspector Spacetime convention. With the show being on Fridays, it has the tall order of trying to stay alive on a night where most TV shows go to die. (The fact that most of its viewers are young probably does not help.)
