‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5: First look at Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale could not move further away from her “High School Musical” roots on “Sons of Anarchy” this coming season, as she is going to be playing a character that most Disney Channel fans would faint at — an expensive escort who somehow gets involved in the life of Jax and the other SAMCRO members.

Now, we also have our first look at her character. The photo to the left was first published by TVLine, and it shows Tisdale basically strapped to the back of the group’s new leader Jax — and she does not even look to be remotely comfortable in the process.

Tisdale’s casting — which is for at least two episodes with a possibility open for more — is yet another risky move by show creator Kurt Sutter to bring in someone who may not necessarily be the first person you would expect to see on this show. In addition to Tisdale, “Community” star and “The Soup” host Joel McHale is also going to have a short arc playing a con man who somehow gets himself wrapped up into some pretty nasty business. (In other words, it sounds like Jeff Winger’s dad.) Some other notable guest stars with backgrounds in dramatic television include Jimmy Smits (“Cane,” “Dexter”) and Harold Perrineau (“Lost”), who are each going to have extended arcs.

“Sons of Anarchy” has spent much of the past month filming season 5, which does now have an official premiere date of Tuesday, September 11. Do you think that Tisdale is going to be a good fit with Charlie Hunnam and the rest of the cast? Be sure to share your thoughts below!
