Ratings: ‘Bachelor Pad 3’ loses to ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ repeats

Just how poorly is this new season of “Bachelor Pad” doing? Let’s just say that people are so disinterested in this current cast that they would rather watch repeats of shows on other networks.

Overall, the two-hour episode for the “Bachelor” offshoot — which manages to destroy just about everything that is romantic about “The Bachelor” — scored just a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic for the night. It had some peaks and valleys over the night, but this average rating is a series low and also puts it (pending final adjustments) in a pretty dubious position.

Competing shows that averaged higher ratings in the demo:

-The Olympics (with an 8.1, though this will likely be adjusted later)

-Two hours of “Hell’s Kitchen” repeats (with a 1.1)

-A “2 Broke Girls” repeat at 9:00 (with a 1.2)

-A “Mike & Molly” repeat a 9:30 (with a 1.1)

Competing shows that tied “Bachelor Pad” in the demo:

-A “How I Met Your Mother” repeat at 8:00 (with a 1.0)

-A “2 Broke Girls” repeat at 8:30 (with a 1.0)

We’re not out to humiliate “Bachelor Pad” here, but we are trying to orchestrate that having a popular concept is not enough to make a show a hit — you also need a great cast. Nobody on this season save for Michael Stagliano is that popular among fans, and the newbie twist eliminated the sole purpose of this show. Just to give you some further perspective, the third episode of this show last year — which had a cast that include Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi — drew a 1.9 rating and over 6 million viewers, a good total for summer TV.

In other news, “The Glass House” continued to stay horrible with a 0.6 rating that was worse than anything on the big four networks for the night — but we don’t really expect much from this show, given it was doomed really from the start.

Update: “Bachelor Pad” was adjusted up in the final numbers to a 1.1, but so was the 8:30 “2 Broke Girls.” The only aforementioned show it is now actually beating is “How I Met Your Mother.”
