Scott Porter’s character of George is turning into a rather busy man on “Hart of Dixie.” His relationship with Lemon is already pretty well-documented at this point, and he also left her during the finale in order to pursue Zoe — who, without his knowledge, had already started to hook up with none other than another man in Bluebell in Wade.
So what’s going to happen to this character now? In what some people may see as evidence that he and Zoe do not end up getting together early on during season 2, The Huffington Post reports that Broadway star and country singer Laura Bell Bundy is going to be turning up during at least two episodes as the character Shelby. Outside of her possible affections for George, there’s really not much else in the way of information as this time.
This is hardly Bundy’s first foray into acting on TV, as some of her most notable guest-starring appearances include “How I Met Your Mother” and “Modern Family.” Her country background, though, does seem to fit this show better than pretty much anything else on TV. “Hart of Dixie” is moving to Tuesday nights at 8:00 p.m. beginning on October 2, and it’s possible that her star power — coupled with a marketing push that is far more aggressive than what The CW rolled out last time — will help the show improve some of its numbers that were barely good enough to earn a renewal for this season. Pretty much every show on the network not named “The Vampire Diaries” needs a little bit of help, and you have to get it in whatever way you can.
